Katana Shinken – The Pinnacle of Traditional Japanese Swordsmanship
Discover the Katana Shinken, a masterpiece crafted in the renowned Murasame forge, located in the small province of Longquan. This high-end katana is designed for seasoned enthusiasts, blending ancestral craftsmanship with modern performance. Ideal for Iaido and Battodo, it faithfully replicates traditional Japanese swords (nihonto).
Technical Features:
Blade: 73 cm (kissaki to tsuba), forged using the kobuse method with a genuine suguha hamon, delivering striking aesthetics and razor-sharp efficiency.
Weight: 910 g, perfectly balanced for smooth and precise handling.
Tsuka (Handle): 26 cm, wrapped in Japanese silk with traditional tatakémaki wrapping over high-grade samé (stingray skin) with prominent nodules.
Tsuka: Traditionally mounted with a bamboo pin (mekugi).
Tsuba (Guard): An elegantly openwork guard with a diameter of 7.5 cm, combining beauty and functionality.
Habaki and Seppa: Made from finely crafted copper
Saya (Scabbard): Lacquered black scabbard with genuine horn accents and a sageo in Japanese silk.
A Premium Katana for Experts
Created with meticulous attention to detail, the Katana Shinken honors Japanese traditions. Every element, from its precise assembly to its luxurious finishes, showcases the expertise of the Murasame forge, a specialist in crafting extraordinary swords.
Why Choose the Katana Shinken?
Authenticity and Tradition: A true reflection of authentic Japanese katanas (nihonto).
Superior Quality: Premium materials such as Japanese silk, crafted copper, and a genuine hamon.
Performance-Driven: Perfectly balanced and razor-sharp, ready for advanced martial arts practice and katas.
