Shintai are physical objects worshiped in or near a Shinto shrine to serve as receptacles (依代) in which spirits or Kami reside.

Despite what their names suggest, the Shintai themselves are not a part of the kami, but rather receptacles, temporary or otherwise, making them accessible to human beings to be worshiped.

Sharp 1045 steel blade bent 12 times with more than 8000 layers.
Shinogi-Zukuri blade style with (Bo-Hi) and decorative Hamon.
Tsuka with light brown cotton ito in the Hineri-Maki style.
Real ray skin.
Shiny black lacquered saya in wood.
2 bamboo pins (Mekugi).
Habaki and Seppa are made of brass.
