The history of the Higonokami knife dates back to the late 19th century, precisely in 1896, when Japanese blacksmiths were seeking an alternative to the samurai's katana. The name Higonokami humbly means "Lord of Higo," referring to the Japanese city where it originated.

Rooted in Japanese tradition, the Higonokami is a true symbol of the Land of the Rising Sun. It's a versatile folding pocket knife capable of handling a multitude of tasks, both indoors and outdoors.

Higonokami knives have a distinctive style that is easy to identify. The blade boasts a unique shape, sharp and pointed, often crafted from layered carbon steel. The handle, on the other hand, is typically made of brass and bears the signature of the blacksmith. Easily portable due to its small size, the Higonokami knife can be effortlessly opened and closed using the lever on top of the handle, employing the Piemontais locking mechanism.
